Knits and Notions

I promise this isn't becoming a once a month update. Things have just been really rough lately but I'm getting back on track. At least, I hope so. No more derailing.

Nothing is off my needles. In fact, I have more on there.

But I do have some great knitting bits for ya.

I went to California for a week and a half. Was too scared to take my knitting on the plane with me, because of my Hiya Hiya's. Anyway, I did get some knitting in. See!

And now that I'm back home, I started several new things. One, I'm working on a a wedding gift for a friend in Tennessee. This is just one of four lacy wash cloths that should match the set I'm getting off her register at Bed Bath and Beyond. I think one more lace pattern repeat is in order, then a cast off. Might be kind of small though. Not sure if I truly like that, but the pattern is gorgeous and the Cascade Cotton rich is really soft! (Nerd kicking in? Oh yes.)

That pile on the table? That's my "Organized" knitting stuff. Yup. Projects are in that bag. I believe there is yarn for a shawl, a pair of gloves, the yarn for the wedding gift, the scarf I'm finishing up, and my newest endeavor...

I'm in a knit a lot. It's a vintage knit a long where I will attempt to knit up lace weight super soft baby alpaca into a night dress. (If it were any other yarn, yes I'd still be attempting this feat. :D) Luckily I have a few friends doing it with me...so it's more go and giggle about everything.

I've been getting a bit more writing done and working up our practices in our band and giving my parent's way too much excitement about an upcoming jam at their place with their friends. They are a little happy with one of the guys in the group. I think they might secretly (rather all too obvious) crush on him. To be honest? Who wouldn't. He's gonna knock all the ladies dead with his guitar and that voice. He's also doing wonders with some of the things I've written, so I'm probably going to idolize him as well. Lucky him. *chuckle*

Last bits of knitting fun...my friend and I were watching a movie on the couch last week. The movie didn't end up really being watched, because he was too fascinated with....My knitting. That's right. He took in every angle of the needles and yarn and asked an amount of questions so I knew he wasn't making fun of me. It was kind of fun! I looked what I was doing!

Oh...and remember that picture up there with the load of stuff on my table? Remember this ball? You can't tell, but it's this interesting shade of green. It's superwash merino. There will be socks out of this someday. Oh yes. It's on my list. It should be afraid...very afraid.

I try to not ever fret about getting projects off the needles. I figure I knit for the journey instead of the destination. Otherwise buying socks at Walmart would be cheaper and easier. : )

Ooo! Touche'! I should actually have a project finished a bit later today or tomorrow, but that comment...I'm definitely going to keep that in mind because it puts a huge smile on my face!
