It's all Jen's Fault

Well, part of it is.

Thursday at SnB, she had these really pretty row counters and stitch holders that she was using. We listened to her tell us how to use them, and we all passed around the name of the ETSY shop. MuddyPawsKnitKnacks

So the next day, I browse around it took less than 2 minutes for me to find one that I loved. And some e-mail correspondence later, I've ordered a set of stitch markers and a row counter that match, are a beautiful green with Celtic Knotwork, and fit up to size 8 needles. (Since I've been knitting scarves on size 8's.)

I seem to be on a celtic kick. I really...REALLY want to start knititng a shirt of some sort. But I can't find anything that is exactly what I want to do.

I don't want to work with long sleeves, not yet at least. But all the things I find are long sleeves, or don't have the collar the way I want. Ergh. I have this distinct idea in my head and color mind you, because I think I've fallen in love with Grey. I like the thought, the idea of a band of knotwork around the middle, but again, I can't find a pattern that is really what I'm looking for. In a sweater with long sleeves, sure! But as a short sleeve, V-neck...nope. And right now, I don't really know if I would be capable of adapting the pattern.

*grumble grumble*

In knitting news, I should really sit down and finish up my sister's blanket. I mean, it's so close. But nope. Instead, I cast on mom's x-mas gift. I can't say much, because she likes this blog and reads it. I will say that the damn thing is knitting up extremely fast. (It's probably why I'm in love with grey, because the main color is Heather Grey. Mmm...) I am taking pictures so that once I'm done with it and X-mas is over, I can post the process and the eventual disaster, I mean, smashing gift!

I finished September's KnitAMittAMo. After much cursing, frogging, tinking, and more cursing. They came out beautifully!

I modified the pattern slightly, because my hands aren't nearly that big. Instead of doing 5 repeats on the body, I did four. I still need to block them, but as you can see, they didn't turn out too badly!
I'm actually thinking about giving them to my sister for x-mas, since they seem pretty nice. So soft too! That Cascade Cloud 9 gets softer and softer and more squishy the more you knit with it. The funny thing is, I still have the majority of one skien left of it. Thinking about knitting up a pair of fingerless mitts with it for fun!
Speaking of fingerless mitts, that's October's KnittAMittAMo. However, I have not cast it on yet. I might do that later this week. So much to do, so much I want to do. Think I'll get some knitting in right now until my 1 o'clock appointment...

It's not my fault! ;)

I'm glad you found something you like. I found the counter on her site. It's gorgeous. At least you didn't go totally overboard like I did and get 4 SETS.

Your mittens really do look great. :)

BTW, I used my OpenID to log in this time, rather than my Google ID. I need to update my blog today...

Know how hard it is not not buy that many sets? Well, at least 3 sets? I don't think I could justify the $60 for three counters...but one for socks/mittens, one for scarves, one for bigger things, like the thing for mom...or blankets. (Check out Ravelfry for how it's coming btw...)

I found yours! I'll have to keep checking on it. The Duct tape bust...I think I'm going to do that once I start knitting a top!
