At long Last

Maybe not exactly an update, but a blurb of some sort.

Things have been incredibly busy. I packed up a house in just a few days, have been trying my blade for a spot with the Musketeers, and been all around up to no good. Well, sort of. I wish I could say that I've actually been finishing things. Instead, I'm really close on a lot of project and I'm raring to start new ones. Fancy that.
I did, however, Join the KnitAMittAMo at Twist Yarn Shop. After a disasterous last week when I either dropped something or added something...or frighteningly both, I finally made it to the shop yesterday to get some help. (I would have finished September's mittens this weekend if that would not have happened.)

However, after I got them fixed, it took me about an hour to nearly complete the left mitten. Still have the thumb to put on, which I will most likely do today and start the right Mitten. I'm hoping to be done by Thursday to have them at SnB.

Working these in the Cascade Cloud 9. Was hoping to pick up grey, but I started a little late. The brown however, is looking great! They look very sharp and classic.

The thumb shouldn't take very long. (It goes where that tan strip is. I made these a bit shorter than the pattern calls for. My hands aren't nearly that big. So, they'll be about 2-3 inches shorter than the other gloves. Works for me! I didn't really want all that gap in there.

I like on the pattern, when it tells you how to finish them, you're to weave in the ins, give them a washing, then have a snowball fight. *grin*
Got another couple of pictures for you folks out there. Fiber. Mmm. Sweet sweet fiber! I can't say what I'm doing with all of it, so you'll have to wonder for awhile.

But, I did pick up the socks again. I haven't thrown them, or cursed them yet. I haven't finished them either, but it's still a great start! See!

Got to stick with these because I bought more sock yarn. I'm finding all sorts of patterns I really want to play with. Especially some celtic knotwork! I really love the Noro Colorways, and I think it would be great to try with some of the knotwork patterns!

So, my future sock endeavors will find a use for the Noro and the Opal Harry Potter yarns over here. Twist got a shipment for the Harry Potter Yarns. I picked up the Draco colorway. I'll wait to get the Hedwig colorway in December. Those two were my favorite colors. Mainly greys and greens and blues once knitted up.

Lastly, two mystery pieces. These will be knit up into Christmas gifts for the family. My sister's blanket is coming along well. I have one last corner to turn then it needs to be pieced together and blocked. I'm shocked and amazed how big it's turned out! It certainly is a big squishy queen sized blanket! It'll be hard to part with it, but I'd really like to do another one for myself, maybe in brown. We'll see.

But the first pic here, the greys and green and red will be for my mother's gift. The second, with the black and orange will be for my dad's gift. His is the one I'm worried about finishing in time. But I'll leave you with the curiousity of what these could be.
