Pet update
Well, just got back from a nice walk with Bailey. After the past few days, I have wanted to do nothing but stay in bed. Apparently, she doesn't want me to sleep, since she woke up me at 5 am crying. Ugh.
So, yesterday was extremely long. Mom gave me a call around 8:30. Usually, I'd be awake, but after getting to bed around 4 once work was done? I'm sure I sounded pretty discombobulated. Anyways, she said Sey was getting worse, so I got up and called the Vet. Lucky for me, they had appointments open that afternoon. So, a 45 minute drive to the folk's house to pick up Sey, a 45 minute drive back to the West side of town later, my kitten is being all charming in the vet clinic. (Keep in mind, this is after I tried to give her a bath, which didn't work, so I resulted to a dishcloth soaked in warm water to clean up most of the gunk. And one snapped lead later. I'll explain that further down.)
Poor Sey got the works yesterday. A thorough ear cleaning, clipped nails, a test of something nasty, two doses of her new medicine, and a dose of dewormer. As upset as she was through all of this, she always went back to her sweet little self afterwards. No doubt, I have a very sweet cat.
Anyways, they found she had a parasite. So she's on meds for the next 5 days, which my mom was pretty cool to offer to give it to her while I'm away housesitting. She should clear up in 3 days, so that'll be exciting. I'm sure she'll start feeling a whole lot better. She already acts like it. Bob and I brought her home later that evening and when we left, she was all stretched out giving us that cat look that could only say "Love me, for I am a cat." She had also cleaned herself up a lot too. I thought about taking pictures of her after the vet trip, but she looked so pitiful, that I couldn't really entertain the notion of having blackmail on my cat.
Bailey has been getting a work out and a run for her money. When I came to pick up Sey for the vet, she was outside on a lead, so my dad could do some housework without her sneaking off. (10 acres of land + Horses + Tall Grass = A dog that wants to check it all out and take days doing it.) She sees me pull up and it's in the mode of "Mom mom mom mom!" I have the two year old from hell sometimes.
I greet her, spend some time loving on her, then go inside to clean up Sey. Dad walks in, both dogs in tow and a broken lead. She snapped it trying to follow me. Frankly, I'm sure she chewed through half of it, which is why I have a chain leash, because labs chew. She chewed through the nylon leash I got her when she was a puppy, and the fact that she loves chewing on the chain on walks makes me not want to get another one.
So fast forward back to the broken lead and one upset dad. I put Sey back in her little room. Grab the training collar. Mom means business now. Put that on. Put on her leash. March that puppy out to the barn. Two minutes later, I'm attaching a five foot long lunge line to Bailey. March her back up to the house and she gives me this look of, "What the hell is going on?"
It doesn't stop there. No no. I march into the garage, grab a bicycle. Now she's really giving me the eye. Loop the lunge line a few times to where I'm holding half of it up by the handles in my right hand, and I climb on. With another "What the hell" look, I'm pedaling down the road with Bailey matching pace.
It wasn't a very long ride, but it was still good. About a mile long. We stopped at the halfway mark, and I really think my dog was so confounded she pooped herself in shock. But she kept pace, kept jogging right beside me so we both got a nice work out.
She took a much deserved nap after that, and when I came to get her that evening, she was still extremely well behaved. I do enjoy the bike riding as opposed to walking. I feel like I get more out of it, and I know Bailey does, since she needs to run more than I can do.
And the roller blading from the other day? It went great, until I got back to the car. My right one is now broken in two spots. Ugh. Not sure it's salvagable, and I'm not sure it's worth the cost to buy a set of new ones. I'll have to think about that more.
Stitch and Bitch tonight. I think I'll start the October KnitAMittAMo. Might actually start them when I get home from the dentist. Think I'll take my camera too and snap some photos while I'm there. Until then... *wave*

Poor Sey. Too bad that she's sick, and bummer that the bath didn't work out, but I'm glad that you guys know what's wrong with her and she'll be right in a few days. :)
See you tonight!
