Must be out of my mind

That is the only explanation. Sadly, I'm pretty okay with this fact. *grin*

Just a quick recap...here's all the things I need to finish:

Hat and glove set (end of November...preferably in a week)
Finishing touches/sew up Mystery Gift (Before Yule)
Blanket (Before Yule)
Gryfindor Scarf (Oh now would be good...)
Other Scarf (Need to start the bugger...and finish it before x-mas...)

Lengthy little list there.

Also, the November mittens which I shouldn't have even started! But I felt pretty horrified at completing October's mittens mid November.

As you can see, they turned out pretty well (even though it's really hard to see the beautiful cable work on them. I really do like these mitts! It's hard not to be wearing them!

November's mittens...well, I wasn't exactly a fan of the pattern. No really. Folk artsy stuff is wonderful to my mother...me? Not so much.

However, it's growing on me. Really growing on me. Granted, I won't be wearing these, but it's my first time trying my hand at Fair Isle knitting and color work in general. Let me tell you, I'm absolutely enjoying it! I'm about halfway through the first mitten and the bugger has inspired me on to other things and to learn new things.

Anyways, first a picture of how it's coming. The pattern is called Bird in Hand by Kate Gilbert. It's currently being knit on size 1 DPN's in Worsted weight. I am really loving the colors on it. That muted, flat dusty rose pink really stands out against that heather gray.
So what exactly has one half mitten inspired me to do?
Start another pair of mittens ofcourse! Still not for me. But hey. I picked up some amazingly brilliant obnoxious blue...excuse me..the tag says Cyan. And another, darker Heather gray, almost black. Put them together with another folk art pattern, and we've got a set of mittens on the needles for Bob's mom. I'm getting jealous of how they are turning out too. I just finished the cuff last night, so maybe I'll take pictures today when it's a bit further along and you can really see what I'm talking about.
Granted, they aren't a surprise, because as much as I love doing things for people, I really hate doing something for someone and they not liking it. So, playing it safe, I always ask someone before I knit something for them. Just to check colors and if they'll use it. She really likes electric blue, and the pattern I found has a hat with it too, that I think will look great in predominately blue! So, there you go. She liked the pattern too, so that's a plus!
I've been having a knit happy weekend over here. Early knitting at Panera yesterday, then most of the day, plus back to Twist Yarn Shop last night for two reasons:
1. My kitty mittens didn't have a gauge for them. So trying to convert supposedly fingering weight yarn knit on 1 1/2's to worsted weight knit on...? (The measurements seem to be the same for my Bird in Hands, so we're going with those, although I just got the email today from the pattern designer for a more accurate gauge. Yeah!)
2. I wanted to learn how to knit with two circulars instead of 4 DPN's. It's going so much quicker now! I really want to do the other Bird in Hand Mitten on the two circulars, but I am afraid the difference will be too drastic. Although, you can always block bigger I suppose. We'll have to see how it comes out. Heck, I might even jump head first into things and try some socks on two circulars. I'm getting moderately okay at knitting with these tiny needles! Socks should be no problem!
I'll be heading back to Twist to sit and knit with Jen as she pilfers some internet and give some moral support to Miss Amy who's training today. Maybe I'll get some pictures in too, now that the camera is charged...and if Jen lets me. *laugh* I will however, be forcing myself to do some work. Can't always be all knit and no work. :D
Happy Knitting All.

I'm jealous of how much knitting time you've had. I'm really struggling to make myself work on homework.

It's not so much that I've had time...but I'll sneak it in when I have some time to myself. And between work and sleep, sometimes I just have to set aside time for me...like Saturday mornings and Thursday night SnB. *hugs Gwen*
